In the years 1982 - 1989 he was permanent conductor and artistic director of Randers Chamber Orchestra, and he has also directed numerous operetta and opera performances at the Jutland Opera, Odense Theatre and Aarhus Summer Opera.
Jesper Grove Jørgensen has for many years taught choral and ensemble conducting at Danish music academies, as well as in Oslo and Tromsø and is a sought-after director of choral and orchestral courses. He has also been a jury member at several international choir competitions throughout Europe.
Through his longstanding collaboration with the choirs at Danish Radio and not least as conductor for Lille MUKO, he has made an especially impressive effort to spread Danish choral music at home and abroad. The Danish song has always been central to his work as a choral conductor. His and Lille MUKO's interpretations of this rich repertoire has, through its special tone characterized particularly by a very textual musical expression, made the choir popular with a broad audience in all parts of Denmark.
